40 Under 40!

First of all, our blog got a makeover, thanks to Emily June. Don't you like it?

Even though Eric has only worked in Cape Girardeau for 2 1/2 years, he has already made an impression on the community! He was featured in the Southeast Missourian's Business Today as one of the "40 Under 40." What an honor! The picture of the page is above, and here's what it said:

Community & Professional Involvement: St. Andrew Lutheran Church (small group leader); Cape Girardeau Public Library Board of Trustees (treasurer); Cape West Rotary; Boy Scouts Explorer Post for Legal Careers; Leadership Cape 2008; Chamber of Commerce; Men's Fraternity.

His Typical Day: Wake up around 5am; either run 5-6 miles with friends or go directly to work; word on various projects, usually drafting contracts or leases or reviewing documents; get home around 6pm and play with August until he goes to bed at 8pm; watch TV or read until going to sleep around 10:30.

Most Satisfying Thing About His Work: Providing professional insight and support to companies or organizations that are integral parts of the community.

His Worst Haircut: My freshman year in high school, the "bowl" cut was popular (it looked like someone put a cereal bowl on your head and trimmed around it with scissors). Just about every guy my age had it for a while, and I was no exception. Those are the most embarrassing pictures I have!

His Most Embarrassing Work Moment: On three separate occasions I have forgotten to put a belt on in the morning. I've always figured it out and found one before anyone noticed, though!

Favorite Song from the 80's: "The Final Countdown" by Europe.


What a big deal! We are so proud!

In the mean time, here's what August has been up to:

We've had some warm weather around here, so most days include a trip to the park!

I think this might scar him for life. Just forward those therapy bills on to us, August.

All we here about these days is "Dada's truck."

Watching the doctor/lawyer basketball game. Eric claims that he's not "good enough" to play, but there's an 80 year old on the lawyer team. Seriously, I don't think Eric would get cut.
