Wow, we are all exhausted after a very exciting birthday week! I can't believe that August is already one year old. He grows and changes more and more every day...I'm just glad to be along for the ride! He has taken a couple of steps but doesn't seem too interested in walking yet...he says "uh-oh," "dog," "mama," "dada," and says "woof" when he sees a dog. He loves to be outside and we've filled the hot summer days with swimming and other water activities.
We kicked off the birthday week by going to pick blueberries at Illers Farm in Jackson. August was there with a couple of his friends and they filled buckets and buckets full of berries! August loved crawling on the ground and picking up the fruit (and dirt) to eat.
For his actual birthday, we kept things pretty low-key. He had a cupcake for dessert and he got to go shopping with some birthday money he received from family members.
On the 4th, August cheered me on while I ran my first 5K! (Eric ran with me, too, but 3 miles is nothing compared to the 15 miles he ran today).
On Saturday he had his birthday party at the park across the street from our house. Since he loves dogs, we had a puppy themed party. His Grandma and Aunt Sarah came down to Cape for the party. We were also joined by Lina, Pops, Hannah, Campbell, Amelia, Luke, Charlie, Melanie, and friends the Denningtons, Kochs, Bradshaws, and Mothersheads. August had a GREAT time and got VERY dirty, of course!
So enjoy this slide show of berry picking and birthday festivities.
